I agree that auto dealers have an absolutely awful sales process, and ought to be punished by the marketplace for it by people buying from people with better process (and some dealers really aren’t bad), but I would suggest that instead … Make sure to only buy your car at the end of the month, and that the dealer responds with their price in an email.
